The whitemouth moray (Gymnothorax meleagris) is a brown moray covered in small white spots, with a white mouth lining. The white inside of its mouth is visible as it breathes.
It grows to about 1 m and hunts fish and crustaceans, mostly at night. It is often seen with its head out of a reef hole.
In the Philippines it is found on reefs and rubble slopes.
