Whip Coral Goby

Bryaninops yongei

The whip coral goby (Bryaninops yongei) is a tiny, translucent goby that lives on wire corals. Its body is marked with faint brown bands.

It usually lives in pairs on a single coral, where it removes a patch of polyps and lays its eggs on the bare stem.

In the Philippines it is common on reef slopes and walls with wire corals.
