Tambja morosa

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Mollusca
Class: Gastropoda
Order: Nudibranchia
Family: Polyceridae
Genus: Tambja
Species: Tambja morosa

Tambja morosa is a dorid nudibranch from the family Polyceridae, related to the larger Nembrotha slugs.

Its body is a deep blue-black, outlined in bright blue along the edges, with dark rhinophores and gills. In good light the blue edging really stands out against the dark body.

Like other Tambja it feeds on bryozoans and is usually found on reefs and walls where they grow.

The dark body can trick your camera into overexposing the background, so watch your strobe power and expose for the blue highlights.

It appears on page 51 of Nudibranchs of the Philippines.
