The sphinx goby (Amblygobius sphynx) is a sand-dwelling goby with dark bars, blue spots and a spot on the base of its dorsal fin.

It sifts mouthfuls of sand for small invertebrates and algae and lives in pairs in a burrow it digs itself.

In the Philippines it is found in sheltered sandy and silty areas, including lagoons and seagrass beds.
