Jaguar Dottyback

Pseudochromis moorei

The jaguar dottyback (Pseudochromis moorei) is a small dottyback with a pale body covered in dark spots, like a jaguar's coat, and a pointed head.

It grows to about 10 cm and lives on sand and rubble, hiding among debris and in holes. It hunts small crustaceans and fish.

The jaguar dottyback is found in the western Pacific, including the Philippines, where it is a rare find on sandy and muck sites.
