Halgerda batangas is a dorid nudibranch named after Batangas in the Philippines, home of the famous dive sites of Anilao.
Its pale body is covered in a fine orange network, with raised ridges and tubercles tipped in orange. Like other Halgerda, its body is firm and its back is shaped into a pattern of ridges.
One trait of this Halgerda is that it is nearly always found in groups. If you see one, there are probably one or two more nearby. Six have been seen together in one small patch, scattered around rocks and hard corals, feeding. Halgerda feed on sponges.
When you spot one, slow down and scan the area for others. A group shot is a great bonus.
It appears on page 81 of Nudibranchs of the Philippines.
