The eastern triangle butterflyfish (Chaetodon baronessa) is a triangular butterflyfish with chevron-like lines on its body and dark bands through its eye.
It grows to about 15 cm and feeds almost entirely on the polyps of table and branching Acropora corals. Pairs defend a feeding territory among the corals.
The eastern triangle butterflyfish is found in the western Pacific, including the Philippines, where it lives on coral-rich reefs. It is a relative of the saddle butterflyfish.
