The bluespine unicornfish (Naso unicornis) is a large, grey-olive surgeonfish with a short horn on its forehead and two bright blue spines at the base of its tail.

It can grow to about 70 cm and grazes on leafy brown algae, often in groups along reef edges and over reef flats. The blue spines are sharp and are used in defence.

The bluespine unicornfish ranges across the Indo-Pacific, including the Philippines, where it is common on reef slopes and in channels.
