The blackspotted puffer (Arothron nigropunctatus) is a round puffer with scattered black spots on a grey, brown or yellow body.
It feeds on coral tips, sponges and invertebrates and can inflate itself with water when threatened. Its organs contain dangerous toxins.
In the Philippines it is common on coral reefs, often seen slowly cruising near the bottom.
