The redbelly dwarfgoby (Eviota nigriventris) is a minute, translucent goby with a red body and a dark belly, often seen in groups among branching corals. Despite its name, the lower body often looks black against the red.
It grows to only about 2 cm. Small groups hover just above or within the branches of corals, feeding on tiny plankton and darting back into the coral when threatened.
The redbelly dwarfgoby is found in the western Pacific, including the Philippines, where it lives around branching corals on shallow reefs.
