The convict reefgoby (Priolepis cincta) is a small, shy goby with bold pale bars across a brown body, usually seen hiding in reef crevices. Its striped pattern gives it the 'convict' name.
It grows to about 6-8 cm and lives under ledges, in holes and among rubble, rarely venturing far into the open. It feeds on small crustaceans and other invertebrates.
The convict reefgoby is widespread across the Indo-Pacific, including the Philippines, where it is found in crevices on coral and rocky reefs.
