The black-rayed shrimpgoby (Stonogobiops nematodes) is an elegant little goby with a yellow head, diagonal dark bands and a long, threadlike first dorsal fin. Pairs often hover together just above their burrow.

It grows to about 5 cm and shares its burrow with the striking red-banded snapping shrimp Alpheus randalli. The goby watches for danger while the shrimp keeps the burrow clean.

The black-rayed shrimpgoby is found in the Indo-West Pacific, including the Philippines, where it lives on sand and rubble slopes, usually below about 15 m.
