Jorunna rubescens is a large dorid nudibranch in the family Discodorididae and one of the more eye-catching Jorunna species in the Philippines.

Its white to cream body is marked with reddish-brown lines and streaks that run along the back, and its rhinophores and gills are reddish to dark brown. The mantle has a soft, velvety texture typical of the genus.

Like other Jorunna, it feeds on sponges and is usually seen crawling openly over reef and rubble during the day, which makes it a good subject for photographers.

Because of its size and bold pattern it is easy to spot. Get low and shoot slightly from the front to show the gill plume and rhinophores together.

It appears on page 91 of Nudibranchs of the Philippines.
