The honeycomb moray (Gymnothorax favagineus) is a large moray covered in a striking honeycomb pattern of dark spots on a pale background. Also called the laced or tessellate moray, its pattern varies between individuals.
It can grow to over 2 m and feeds on fish, octopus and crustaceans. It is usually seen with its head out of a hole.
In the Philippines it is found on reef slopes and in large crevices.
