The Durban hinge-beak shrimp (Rhynchocinetes durbanensis) is a red shrimp with fine white lines and spots and large, bright eyes. Its rostrum is hinged and can be raised and lowered.

It is mainly active at night and feeds on detritus and small invertebrates. It often gathers in groups and is sometimes called a dancing shrimp or camel shrimp.

In the Philippines it hides in reef crevices by day and is common in torchlight on night dives.
