The yellow boxfish (Ostracion cubicum) has a cube-shaped body; juveniles are bright yellow with black spots, and adults turn duller.
It feeds on algae and small invertebrates and can release a toxin from its skin when stressed.
In the Philippines juveniles are often found hiding in crevices on reefs.
