The twospot coralfish (Coradion melanopus) is a butterflyfish with broad brown bands across a pale body and two dark, white-ringed eyespots on the rear of the dorsal and anal fins.
It grows to about 15 cm and is usually seen in pairs, picking at sponges, small invertebrates and the surface of the reef. The eyespots may confuse predators about which end is the head.
The twospot coralfish is found in the western Pacific, including the Philippines, where it lives on coral reefs and slopes, often at moderate depths.
