Siphopteron makisig

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Mollusca
Class: Gastropoda
Order: Cephalaspidea
Family: Gastropteridae
Genus: Siphopteron
Species: Siphopteron makisig

Siphopteron makisig is a tiny gastropterid headshield slug described from the Philippines in 2017. 'Makisig' is a Filipino word meaning handsome or dashing.

It is only a few millimetres long. Like other Siphopteron, it has wing-like parapodia it can use to swim and a small siphon at the rear.

In the Philippines it is found on sand and rubble, and its tiny size makes it a true super-macro subject.
