The segmented blenny (Salarias segmentatus) is a small blenny with a banded, segmented-looking body and a fringe of cirri above the eyes. Its colour is a mix of olive, brown and white bars with fine pale spots.

Reaching around 6 cm, it lives on shallow reef flats and rubble, perching on rocks and dead coral. Like other Salarias blennies, it grazes on algae and detritus, scraping films from hard surfaces with its comb-like teeth.

The segmented blenny is found in the western Pacific, including the Philippines, where it can be seen in shallow coral and rubble areas, often watching divers from its perch.
