The golden damselfish (Amblyglyphidodon aureus) is a deep-bodied, bright yellow damselfish with tall, pointed fins.
It feeds on plankton above the reef and lays its eggs on gorgonians or whip corals, which the male guards.
In the Philippines it is found along steep reef slopes and walls, usually near sea fans.
