Glossodoris sp. 1 is a white chromodorid nudibranch with a blue and yellow banded mantle margin. It has not yet been formally described. The numbered name follows the book and is a reference label, not a formal scientific species name.
Glossodoris are sponge-feeding nudibranchs. Their food choices can be specialised, so a sponge beside an individual should not automatically be labelled as its prey. The mantle edge, rhinophores and rear gills provide useful details for comparison.
In the Philippines, photographs of unnamed forms are worth keeping with careful notes. Recording the date and dive site helps you revisit an observation without making assumptions about the animal's wider distribution.
Use a view from above to show the coloured mantle border, then take a lower angle if it is accessible. Avoid touching the slug or its surroundings to improve the composition.
It appears on page 129 of Nudibranchs of the Philippines.
